The smart electric self-launching aircraft for modern pilots

With the DG1001RES, we present our latest flagship among the double-seaters – a consistent further development of the DG1001 family with pioneering RES technology (electric self-launching using the Solo Aircraft RES system).

Innovative drive for higher range and flexibility

The DG1001RES is based on the DG1001E in combination with the efficient Solo Aircraft RES system. Two fuselage batteries are installed as standard, enabling 3–4 self-launches. This flexibility creates new scope for training, cross-country flying and aerobatics.

  • Maximum climb altitude: up to 2,000 m

New standard equipment

The DG1001RES not only sets new technical standards, but also offers numerous improvements in detail. These include a new interior, a bigger luggage compartment, and an intelligent cabling concept that makes handling and maintenance much easier.

Options

In addition to the proven equipment variants, new options will also be available in the future:

  • electric front pedal adjustment
  • onboard charger for the RES batteries
  • steerable tail wheel
  • other innovative features that further increase flexibility and everyday usability

Versatile and future-proof

Retrofitting of the RES system for the DG1000T will be possible in the future, once production has successfully started.

Safe your slot!

The prototype is currently under construction, with flight testing planned for 2026. The DG1001RES will be available and ready to order from 2027. Option forms are now available – safe your delivery slot early.

 

Flexible Like No Other

The DG1001RES was developed with a focus on cross-country gliding and electrification. That’s why the 20m neo outer wings are part of the series. But the aircraft can also be used for aerobatics and training.

In order to maintain the versatility of the DG1001RES, especially in clubs, the aircraft can still be used for aerobatics with 17.2m wings. To do this, only the RES batteries need to be removed in order to comply with the weight limits of the structure.

Training with RES

Many clubs are struggling with declining student and membership numbers. To counteract this trend, rapid learning success is important. The faster the flight student progresses, the higher the probability that they will complete their training and remain with the club. This is exactly where the DG1001RES can be used in a targeted manner.

Not every airfield has good thermal conditions. Often, many takeoffs are necessary to teach the important basics, especially at the beginning of training.

With the DG1001RES, you have the opportunity to turn short pattern flights into extended training takeoffs and better impart practical knowledge. If you use the RES system for only a short time at each takeoff, it is easier to reach the thermals and effectively practice the exercises.

The result is increased learning success, more enjoyment of training, and a shorter training period.

The DG1001RES is also the ideal companion for further training, for example, to obtain the selfstart authorization.

 

Flying without limits!

The DG1001RES will also be equipped with a handicap system in its version with electric retractable landing gear. The lever on the left side panel, which is otherwise used for the manual retractable landing gear, is used to operate the rudder, allowing people with disabilities to enjoy the beauty of our sport. The lever does not interfere with pilots without disabilities and can therefore remain in the cockpit. Removal is not necessary, which simplifies use in clubs with changing pilots.

The DG1001RES can also be retrofitted with a handicap control system if required. This opens up the possibility for people with physical disabilities to start glider training with us – even if they are not yet club members. In this way, we can make gliding accessible to everyone and actively promote inclusion in the club.

Note: Many organizations and countries support disabled sports and promote the installation of the handicap system!

Battery box

The two RES drive batteries are located in the rear of the hull.

Landing gear

The large main landing gear with 5" main wheel improves the angle of attack during taxiing and increases comfort. In the event of a crash, it absorbs a lot of energy to protect the pilot.

Cockpit

The DG's typical cockpit envelops the pilot in a sporty atmosphere. The comfortable seating position in both cockpits allows for long flights without fatigue.

neo-winglets

The neo-winglets primarily improve climb and handling at high wing loads. They also demonstrate their advantages in dynamic preflight maneuvers.

RES propeller

The Emrax motor used in combination with the newly developed JS2 propeller provides sufficient thrust for a safe takeoff.
