Dear aviation community,

A safety report has revealed that the crimped hose on the primer valve of a DG-800B has ruptured.

This defect may go unnoticed under certain circumstances and, as a result of the pressure drop in the fuel system, could lead to engine failure and an aborted take-off. In the worst-case scenario, the leaked fuel could ignite on the exhaust, resulting in an engine fire.

We have already reported this incident to the relevant authority via the EASA reporting system (ECCAIRS) and will work together to develop further actions. In the spirit of an open safety culture (“Just Culture”), it is important for us to share such events transparently as quickly as possible so that we can work together to further increase flight safety.

Therefore, before your next flight, please carefully inspect the affected area on aircraft equipped with this electromechanical primer (we are currently aware of the DG-800B, DG-800C, DG-500M and DG-500MB models). Pay particular attention to damage, leaks or signs of aging on the hose.
