The test procedure for the new DG-1000T propeller axis is now over. The new axis is performing very well!

First of all, Real Test GmbH our partner for this test procedure was testing 5 old style propeller axes in order to prove the test rig’s accuracy. These tests resulted in cracks which look exactly the same as the cracks during operation in the DG-1000T. Also the time span in which these cracks occur was confirmed.

Afterwards Real Test GmbH continued to test multiple axes of new design. These parts were tested successfully. At the moment, we have proven more than 50h of safe operation.

At this point, we would like to thank especially Mr. Tobuschat from Real Test GmbH who spent a lot of work in this project in order to get the Turbos running again.

DG Flugzeugbau now recommends dismantling the propeller axis including pulley and sending it to Solo. Therefore please use the following address:

Solo Vertriebs- und Entwicklungs GmbH
Stuttgarterstraße 41
D-71069 Sindelfingen
Germany

For disassembly, the appropriate page in the maintenance manual is amended

We have to point out, that the AD is not yet abolished by EASA. Even with a new axis installed, the turbo unit cannot be used. We expect EASA to approve the TN and abolish the AD shortly.

As soon as the TN is approved we will inform you immediately.
