With the issuing of NfL-2-382-17 by the German aviation authority Luftfahrtbundesamt (LBA), NfL-II-25/09, NfL-II-15/10 NfL-II-25/09 and NfL-II-16/10 are null and void. For owners of German registered aircraft this means that two obligatory examinations will no longer be necessary: the annual transponder check and the biannual simplified altimeter check. As these inspections are usually part of an aircraft maintenance program, the latter will no longer be valid.

At the same time the European authority EASA has amended Part M, so specific maintenance work on aircraft up to 1200 kg (ELA1) may only be carried out in a maintenance organization for which – so far – a CAMO has been required. This applies to airworthiness examinations as well as to the issuing of a specific aircraft maintenance program. We are currently busy including these corrections into our compendium for DG Flugzeugbau’s maintenance organization.

As a result it does no longer make sense to carry on DG Flugzeugbau’s CAMO. After the changes to our maintenance organization have been approved, we will therefore close our CAMO.

You may now, in order to further operate your aircraft in an airworthy condition, compile a self-declared aircraft maintenance program (IHP). As the preparation of such a program is an extensive piece of work, DG Flugzeugbau is offering help. We may well prepare everything for you so the only thing you will have to do is authorize the self-declared IHP with your signature.

The advantage of such a self-declared aircraft maintenance program prepared by DG Flugzeugbau is that it already respects all the manufacturer’s specifications. This procedure will reduce possible questions or queries during the annual airworthiness examination. Also the risk that your aircraft might be grounded during a possible ACAM examination because of any maintenance issue will be minimized.

Within an annual airworthiness examination conducted at DG Flugzeugbau we will of course check your IHP for validity and completeness and correct it if necessary.

Please let is know if you are interested in a self-declared IHP prepared by DG. All you need to do is send an e-mail to: rodrigues@dg-flugzeugbau.de
